Vision and Mission

Vision

The Program will be the leading institute in Cambodia committed to the teaching and learning of current knowledge and the development of new knowledge and skills for current and future educators and educational leaders. This will be done through the provision of high quality academic education programs of study, engagement in research and involvement in service. These activities will contribute to the ongoing development of a theoretically informed and more equitable educational system in the country and in the broader region.

Mission

The three-fold mission of the Program is to

  1. Provide high-quality teaching and learning opportunities to prepare professionals for leadership in a wide variety of educational careers;

  2. Engage in scholarly research and prepare scholars who can conduct academic research that addresses critical national and regional educational issues; and

  3. Provide valuable service to the field through collaboration with other educational agencies, institutions, and scholars to contribute to the improvement of the education system in Cambodia and the region.

Objectives

  1. Develop professional course curriculum that is relevant to the Cambodian context and reflective of international developments in the field.

  2. Provide high quality instruction taught by appropriately experienced and credentialed instructors.

  3. Conduct and support scholarly research addressing national and regional education issues.

  4. Provide teaching and learning opportunities for students in research methodology and design and, guide them in the early stages of their research skills development.

  5. Develop collaborations with educational agencies, institutions and scholars who may be working to respond to the needs of the Cambodian educational system

  6. Engage in collaborations regionally and internationally to provide service to the field of education.
